Plan your garden like a spreadsheet.

Pomona is a grid-based garden planner that helps you map every plant, track what's growing where, and tend it year after year.

Why Pomona

Every plant in its place

A 2D grid you fill in cell by cell. No more guessing where you planted the tomatoes last spring.

As fast as a spreadsheet

Keyboard-first editing, drag-fill, copy-paste rows. Built for real planning sessions, not click marathons.

Works offline. Yours forever.

Your gardens sync to the cloud but live locally. Export to JSON any time — your data, your format.

What you can do

  • Multi-garden support. Front yard, back yard, allotment — keep each plan separate.
  • Custom plants catalog. Add your own varieties with colors, sizes, and notes.
  • Multiple layers per board. Plants, structures, paths, fences — toggle visibility per layer.
  • Companion plant hints. See what grows well next to what before you place a plant.
  • JSON import / export. Back up, share, or move your designs anywhere.
  • Smooth at any size. Tested on grids large enough for an actual garden.

About the name

Pomona was the Roman goddess of orchards, fruit trees, and cultivated gardens — the only one of the Roman deities whose entire mythology centred on tending and pruning, not battles or oracles. We borrowed her name because that's the kind of garden tool we wanted: quiet, practical, made for the slow work of growing things.
